cycling in ecp - changi village

hey all.

happy chinese new year to all!!!

We shall be going for our long awaited cycling trip tgth as ODAC on wednesday. The details are as follow:

Date: 28Jan2009

Meeting time/venue: 3:15pm foyer/porch (The one way transport bus will be leaving at 3:15pm sharp)

Destination: East Coast Park (ECP) & Changi Village

What to wear: ODAC/PE tee and running shoes

Things to bring: Backpack (compulsory), journal, 2 500ml water bottles, whistle, poncho,
torchlight, snacks, money for bike rental (approximately $6 to $10)

What we will be doing
Travelling to ECP by chartered bus to carpark c3, near marine cove. start cycling from ecp towards our LTC campsite, MOE campsite. then along the perimeter of changi airport and finally changi village and also back.

We hope to complete this in like about 3hours. In the event that we are behind time or wet weather, we may have to cancel/postpone/head back to ECP, but we hope that will not be the case. :)

Please familiarise yourself with the routes from the below websites:
http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=1.301167,103.914099&spn=0.009696,0.013819&z=16

http://www.nparks.gov.sg/cms/index.php?option=com_visitorsguide&task=parks&id=14&Itemid=73

If you are looking at the map provided by google, our starting point will be near the expressway marker 10B. On the other hand, the maps provided by NParks will only show the routes in ECP but not the 2nd half of the route.

As we understand that someone of you may want to deposit some of your school stuff before leaving for ECP so as to lighten the load (you are encouraged to), we will be opening the ODAC store for everyone to deposit their belongings there. Will let you know again what time you all can go to the store. :D
